Physical Therapy Month
Most people know October to be the month for Breast Cancer Awareness. Yet it’s also the month that celebrates physical
therapy and all those people that it serves. Physical therapy has grown at BMHD in the past 10 years, starting with 3
physical therapists to now having 7! We have an amazing team here at BMHD who are all well-rounded therapists, and each
specialize on on different areas of the profession.
Austin Brown, PT, DPT is the newest addition to BMHD, returning to us from previously being a traveler. He is an
excellent all around physical therapist and is serving Grant County by providing physical therapy in Home Health. He
approaches his patients with compassion and desire to assist them to regain their ability to function.
Cali Carpenter, PT, DPT joined our team in March of 2020. She has travelled with us since 2014 and we are excited to
have her as a permanent member of the team. She works to develop a plan that is tailored specifically for the each patient,
including alignment based exercises, breath coaching, education, and hands on therapy for the body, both in outpatient
Rehab Services and Home Health. She is currently pursuing a certification in Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy, to be completed
by February 2021!
Katie Cole, PT, DPT specializes in multiple manual therapy techniques, including myofascial release, soft tissue
mobilization, muscle energy, visceral manipulation and lymphatic drainage. She has over 18 years of clinical experience
treating children and adults of all ages. Katie believes in treating the whole person, not just the part that hurts. She primarily
works in outpatient Rehab Services.
Kayley Klingbeil, PT, DPT loves to work with all types of children and adults with neurological and vestibular (dizziness)
disorders. She believes that each patient experience is unique and utilizes the best approach for each individual. She is
pursuing the Neurologic Clinical Specialist board certification due to her passion in treating disorders of the brain and spinal
cord. Kayley works in outpatient Rehab Services and all the schools of Grant County.
Vincent Maurer, PT, DPT utilizes his experience in martial arts and the transformative power of strengthening on the
body, mind, and spirit with every patient he approaches. He serves patients in outpatient Rehab Services and inpatient /
swing bed settings. Due to his experience in hospitality, Vincent is passionate about patient customer service and is working
to facilitate improve patient experience at BMHD.
Megan Pass, PT, DPT, NCPT specializes in those that experience long-time pain and difficulties with the spine and pelvis.
She primarily works in outpatient Rehab Services, but you’ll find her in any setting that patients need to be seen. Megan
is highly skilled in myofascial release, craniosacral, and various manual therapy techniques. She also is a Polestar Pilates
Rehabilitation Practitioner, which she uses with every patient in targeted movement to find safety and ease in movement.
Elliot Sky, PT, DPT enjoys working with athletes to get back into competition shape and disorders of the foot and ankle.
He promotes the livelihood of those living with chronic pain and improves people’s function after an acute injury. He is
routinely impressed by what his patients are capable of doing despite their injuries or limitations. Elliot serves patients in
outpatient Rehab Services and inpatient / swing bed settings.
We strive to have match the best physical therapist to each patient. All therapists are well versed and skilled in orthopedic
(muscle / bone) treatments. We all work together as a team for the best outcome. We look forward to serving each of you,
the residents of Grant County.

Eddie Smith
Eddie was born on January 1, 1940 in Hifill, Arkansas to Jack and Luveta Smith. He has one sister. His family followed the
oil fields for work. They settled in Sweet Home, Oregon, when he was 8 years old.
Eddie met Latrona Winegar on February 14, 1965 and they were married on June 5, 1965. They have 3 children, a boy and
two girls. They raised their family in Eagle Creek, Oregon.
Eddie started out working in the Police field, then owned a business as a manufacturer rep. He pioneered the card system
(bubble packs for medication) for the Northwestern United States – Northern California to Alaska. He has travelled to every
state West of the Mississippi and some East of the Mississippi. He was in the United States Air Force for 3 years, 11 months
and 20 days, but who is counting?!
Eddie likes to write books. He was the top salesman in the country for three different unrelated companies; insurance and
two different medical manufacturing supply companies.
Eddie came to the Blue Mountain Care Center on December 31, 2019.
