POLICE OFFICER
The City of John Day has an
opening for a Police Officer.
The duties include; patrols
roads, highways, commercial
and residential area enforc-
ing traffic and criminal laws,
performs security and vacation
checks. Investigates accidents
and criminal complaints; makes
arrests and issues citations on
major activities. Must be able to
analyze situations quickly and
objectively determine proper
course of action. High school
graduate or GED required.
Possession of or the ability
to secure possession of a
valid Oregon Driver’s License.
Employee will be required to
be certified by the Department
of Public Safety Standards
and Training (DPSST). Basic
Certificate preferred upon being
hired. Must successfully pass
a Criminal background check,
Pre-employment drug test and
Pre-employment Psychological
Screening.
