Updates from the Blue Mountain Healthcare Foundation
The Blue Mountain Healthcare Foundation is a local nonprofit organization, run
by a board of Blue Mountain Hospital District employees, local business owners and
community members who are passionate about healthcare in Grant County. The
mission is to provide financial support for healthcare improvements in Grant County
in order to build a brighter future for our community and to keep our friends,
family and neighbors close to home for their healthcare needs.

Slide presentations about Kam Wah Chung, as well as an
archaeology day, are coming up.
The Healthcare Foundation was founded in 1999, and over the years has provided
significant financial support to the Hospital District. Some of the items the
foundation has helped fund include: a new ambulance, cardiac monitoring
equipment, new hospital beds, updates to the Care Center, a new call system at the
hospital and many more pieces of equipment and programs.
The deadline for What’s Happening items is 5 p.m. Friday.
Call the Eagle, 541-575-0710, or email editor@bmeagle.

People often ask, “What’s the difference between the Healthcare Foundation &
the Hospital District?” The Healthcare Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the
Hospital District that works solely to raise money to improve healthcare in Grant
County. All money raised by the Blue Mountain Healthcare Foundation goes back
to the Blue Mountain Hospital District which is made up of:
Vacation Bible school

How To Help
There are many ways to support the Blue Mountain Healthcare Foundation.
Donations can be made at any time by bringing/mailing a check to the hospital, or
you can donate online at www.bluemountainhospital.org
If you want to make a bigger impact on the future of healthcare in Grant County,
you can consider leaving a legacy. You can make a legacy gift by naming Blue
Mountain Healthcare Foundation as a beneficiary of your will, living trust, life
insurance or retirement plan. You can also create other deferred arrangements to
support the Healthcare Foundation, such as gift annuities and charitable trusts.
The most practical way to make significant gifts may be through your estate plan,
by means of a will, living trust or beneficiary designation on a life insurance policy
or retirement account. Such gifts are wholly revocable while you are alive and may
save significant taxes for your estate. If you’re interested in learning more about
these opportunities feel free to give us a call.
If you’re interested in making a donation or would like to know more about the
Foundation or any of the upcoming events, contact Jena Knowles at 541-575-1311
ext. 2213 or jknowles@bluemountainhospital.org.
