Job Duties: Works coopera-
tively with other members of
the department’s road main-
tenance crew. Perform a wide
variety of road maintenance
and construction tasks. Work
is performed under the direct
supervision of the Road Fore-
man with oversight by the Road
Master.
Screening Requirements:
Applicants must hold a valid
Class-A Oregon Commercial
Driver’s License. At least 3
years of experience is required
in general maintenance and
construction work including use
of construction equipment and
tools, equivalent training or sat-
isfactory combination of training
and experience required to per-
form the essential functions of
the job. Applicants must be able
to read and write, communicate
effectively, understand plans
and profiles from approved
construction drawings, follow
instructions and work effectively
on an independent basis, or
work cooperatively, as part of a
team. Basic knowledge of work-
place safety standards, general
equipment maintenance, and
radio communications is pre-
ferred. This position is expected
to operate a variety of road
maintenance and construction
equipment including pickups,
dump trucks, snowplow, truck/
trailer combinations, brooms,
loaders, graders, backhoes
and rollers, and use a variety of
hand and power tools. The ap-
plicant selected will be required
to pass a pre-employment drug
test.

Technician I position.
Must
have ability to provide techni-
cal and outreach assistance,
solicit landowner conservation
program participation, under-
stand project installation re-
quirements, conduct onsite in-
spections, create ArcGIS maps/
layouts, experience in collecting

independently and as part of a
team, have good computer and
communication skills.

Utility Worker
The City of Prairie City is
accepting applications to fill a
Public Works Utility Worker po-
sition. The Utility Worker per-
forms a variety of tasks associ-
ated with public works. Must be
able to operate light, moderate
and heavy equipment. Re-
quires prolonged standing,
stooping and lifting in adverse
weather conditions. Assists
with daily routines associated
with the maintenance of Parks,
Streets, Water, Wastewater and
municipal infrastructure. Must
have or be able to obtain water
distribution and treatment level
1, wastewater collections level 2
and wastewater treatment level
1 certifications within the re-
quired time limits. Must be over
18 with a high school diploma or
GED, have a valid Oregon driv-
ers license, clean DMV record,
pass a background check and
be able to obtain first aid/CPR
and flagger certifications. Em-
ployee is required to be on call
on a rotating schedule, live and
be able to respond to after hour
call outs and emergencies with-
in 20 minutes. Starting wage
is $15.50 per hour depending
on experience and certifica-
tions. Position is full time with
a generous benefits package.
