Job Duties: Works coopera-
tively with other members of
the department’s road main-
tenance crew. Perform a wide
variety of road maintenance
and construction tasks. Work
is performed under the direct
supervision of the Road Fore-
man with oversight by the Road
Master.
Screening Requirements:
Applicants must hold a valid
Class-A Oregon Commercial
Driver’s License. At least 3
years of experience is required
in general maintenance and
construction work including use
of construction equipment and
tools, equivalent training or sat-
isfactory combination of training
and experience required to per-
form the essential functions of
the job. Applicants must be able
to read and write, communicate
effectively, understand plans
and profiles from approved
construction drawings, follow
instructions and work effectively
on an independent basis, or
work cooperatively, as part of a
team. Basic knowledge of work-
place safety standards, general
equipment maintenance, and
radio communications is pre-
ferred. This position is expected
to operate a variety of road
maintenance and construction
equipment including pickups,
dump trucks, snowplow, truck/
trailer combinations, brooms,
loaders, graders, backhoes
and rollers, and use a variety of
hand and power tools. The ap-
plicant selected will be required
to pass a pre-employment drug
test.

NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING
NOTICE OF BUDGET HEARING
A public meeting of the Grant County Court will be held on June 12, 2019 at
9:15 a.m. at Courthouse County Court Room Canyon City, Oregon. The purpose
of this meetings is to discuss the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1,
2019 as approved by the Grant County Budget Committee. A summary of the
budget is presented below. A copy of the budget may be inspected or obtained
at Treasurer’s Office Canyon City between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
This budget is for an annual budget period. This budget was prepared on a
basis of accounting that is the same as the preceding year.

Library, 375 E. Main St., Long Creek, Oregon. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss the budget for the fiscal year beginning
July 1, 2019 as approved by the Grant School District #17 Budget Committee. A summary of the budget is presented below. A

LET IT BE KNOWN TO ALL PERSONS of the City of John Day that
the John Day city council has adopted a Fair Housing Resolution,
which resolution is in force as of May 21, 2019. The full resolution is
published below. Assistance to those seeking to file a discrimination
complaint is available by contacting the City of John Day at 450 E.
Main Street, John Day, OR 97845.
RESOLUTION NO. 19-810-11
CITY OF JOHN DAY FAIR HOUSING RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, City of John Day (“City”) has all powers that the consti-
tutions, statutes, and common law of the United States and Oregon
expressly or impliedly grant or allow City; and
WHEREAS, discrimination in the sale, rental, lease, advertising
of sale, rental or lease, financing of housing or land to be used for
construction of housing, or in the provision of brokerage or rental
services because of race, color, religion, sex, disability (physical or
mental), familial status (children) or national origin is prohibited by
Title VIII of the federal Fair Housing Amendments Act of 1988; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the City of John Day to support the Fair
Housing Amendments Act of 1988 (the “Act”) and to implement a
Fair Housing Program to ensure equal opportunity in housing for all
persons regardless of race, color, religion, sex, disability (physical
and mental), familial status (1. children, and 2. actual or perceived
sexual orientation, gender identity or marital status or its members),
or national origin;
NOW, THEREFORE, City of John Day resolves as follows:
1. Findings. The above-stated findings contained in this Resolution
No. 19-810-11 (this “Resolution”) are hereby adopted.
2. Community Assistance. Within the resources available to the City
through city, county, state, federal and community volunteer sources,
the City will assist all persons who feel they have been discriminated
against because of race, color, religion, sex, disability (physical and
mental), familial status (children) or national origin in the process of
filing a complaint with the Oregon Civil Rights Division or the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban Development, Seattle Regional
Office Compliance Division, that they may seek equity under federal
and state laws.
3. Publication. City shall publicize this Resolution and through this
publicity shall cause real estate brokers and sellers, private home
sellers, rental owners, rental property managers, real estate and
rental advertisers, lenders, builders, developers, home buyers and
home or apartment renters to become aware of their respective re-
sponsibilities and rights under the Act and any applicable state or
local laws or ordinances.
4. Fair Housing Program Implementation. For the purpose of inform-
ing those affected of their respective responsibilities and rights con-
cerning Fair Housing law and complaint procedures, the City will at a
minimum perform the following:
a) Print, publicize and distribute this Resolution;
b) Distribute posters, flyers, pamphlets and other applicable Fair
Housing information provided by local, state and federal sources,
through local media of community contacts; and
c) Publicize locations where assistance will be provided to those
seeking to file a discrimination complaint.
5. Miscellaneous. All pronouns contained in this Resolution and any
variations thereof will be deemed to refer to the masculine, femi-
nine, or neutral, singular or plural, as the identity of the parties may
require. The singular includes the plural and the plural includes
the singular. The word “or” is not exclusive. The words “include,”
“includes,” and “including” are not limiting. The provisions of this
Resolution are hereby declared severable. If any section, subsec-
tion, sentence, clause, and/or portion of this Resolution is for any
reason held invalid, unenforceable, and/or unconstitutional, such
invalid, unenforceable, and/or unconstitutional section, subsection,
sentence, clause, and/or portion will (a) yield to a construction per-
mitting enforcement to the maximum extent permitted by applicable
law, and (b) not affect the validity, enforceability, and/or constitution-
ality of the remaining portion of this Resolution. This Resolution may
be corrected by order of the Council to cure editorial and/or clerical
errors. This Resolution will be in full force and effect from and after
its approval and adoption.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of City of John Day
and signed by the mayor this 21st day of May, 2019.
