Circuit Court
A charge against Liv M. Elf-
strom, 29, Durango, Colorado,
of driving under the influence
of intoxicants committed Aug.
19, 2017, was dismissed with
prejudice Nov. 13 after the
court found that Elfstrom had
complied with and completed
a diversion program or taken
sufficient steps to satisfy the re-
quirement to complete a treat-
ment program.
Kevin R. Weiher, 56, Eu-
faula, Oklahoma, was acquit-
ted Nov. 14 of six charges in-
cluding fourth-degree assault
and menacing constituting do-
mestic violence and attempted
coercion and harassment, all
allegedly committed on Aug.
9, following a two-day trial. He
was discharged and released
from any further obligations to
the court.
Amanda L. Bogen, 32,
Prairie City, pleaded guilty
Feb. 22 to felony possession
of methamphetamine commit-
ted on Oct. 12, 2016. Charges
of manufacture and delivery
of methamphetamine were
dismissed. The case was con-
ditionally discharged June 14,
which was terminated Nov. 15
for a probation violation. She
was sentenced to six days jail,
18 months probation, 80 hours
community service and a $200
fine.
Derek M. Bergman, 25,
Prairie City, pleaded guilty
Nov. 5 to misdemeanor harass-
ment committed on Aug. 8. He
was sentenced to 20 days jail.
A second charge of harassment
was dismissed.

Nov. 12: Responded to a
motel on Main Street in John
Day and arrested Kevin R. Wei-
her, 56, Eufalula, Oklahoma, on
a warrant for violation of a re-
lease agreement.
Nov. 12: Dispatched to a
single-vehicle rollover crash on
Highway 402. The crash had
occurred six hours earlier, and
the passenger had begun walk-
ing back to his residence 23
miles away. The driver returned
to the scene and was transport-
ed to the hospital. Search and
rescue was notified.
Nov. 14: Investigated a sin-
gle-vehicle crash on Highway
26 west of John Day. The driv-
er had tried to avoid hitting two
deer.
Nov. 16: Responded to com-
mercial vehicle crash on High-
way 26 near Dixie Summit.
The truck slid on ice and struck
a guardrail. Jacob I. Light, 28,
Baker City, was cited for not
staying in the lane.
Nov. 17: Responded to
Highway 26 near Dixie Sum-
mit and cited Stephen P. Han-
cock, 42, Canyon City, for un-
lawful cutting and transporting
wood products.

The Forest Service will
host objection resolution
meetings regarding the re-
vised forest plans for the
Malheur, Umatilla and
Wallowa-Whitman nation-
al forests next week.
The first session is from
8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday,
Nov. 27, in the Trowbridge
Pavilion at the Grant
County Fairgrounds in
John Day.
Sessions will also be
held from 9:30 a.m. to 5:15
p.m. Nov. 28 at the Pend-
leton Convention Center;
from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Nov. 29 at the Wallowa
Senior Center; from 9:30
a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Nov. 30
at Baker High School; and
from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Dec.
1 at Eastern Oregon Uni-
versity.
The meetings are open
to the public, but only those
who previously submitted
objections or those who
have received interested
person status may partici-
pate in the discussions.
