Bright Beginnings
Established: 1972
DIRECTOR: Darla Long
FUNDRAISING EVENTS: Raffles, Catalog Sales, Yard Sales
PROGRAM OVERVIEW: Our center offers a “hands on” approach to learning. This style of early childhood
education is designed to foster creativity and expanded self-expression. The teachers manifest their respect
for children by encouraging them to think for themselves, make decisions, work toward their own solutions
and express their own needs and feelings.
We embrace the belief that parents are the first and most important teachers of their children. Parents are
encouraged to participate in a variety or center activities, including birthday and holiday celebrations, fund-
raising events, job sharing day and social events. Parents are welcome in the classroom at any time.
MISSION STATEMENT: Bright Beginnings preschool programs are based on the principles of developmental-
ly appropriate practice. Our goal is to give each child a warm environment that encourages the development
of socialization skills, independence and a positive self-image. Our experienced teaching staff embraces the
view that each child is a unique learner. We recognize and foster an active partnership between home and
school.
VISION: We hope to continue to provide high quality preschool and pre-k for the children of Grant County.
We hope to continue to provide high quality affordable daycare for children ages 3 to 12 years.
OPPORTUNITIES: We are open to volunteers sharing a job, reading to or doing an activity with the children.
