Scholarship and financial aid night

A meeting will be held for juniors, seniors and parents to dis-
cuss financial aid and scholarship information. Topics will in-
clude preparing for scholarships and financial aid, organization,
efficiency, transfer options and a question-and-answer segment.

Benefit dinner to support GIST cancer research
• 4:30 p.m., John Day Golf Club
The golf club is hosting a benefit dinner for gastrointestinal
stromal tumor cancer research. There will be two dinner times
at 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. The cost is $15, $25 for a couple and
$7 under the age of 7. Dinner will include pork roast, mashed
potatoes, vegetables, salad, bread and dessert.

Internet sensation Christopher Duffley sings an original

Duffley, a blind musician with autism, will perform a
benefit concert Nov. 4 in John Day.
The Mad Hatters club will meet for lunch. Members are en-
couraged to attend.
Canyon City haunted house

Admission to the haunted house is free, and Canyon City
Volunteer Fire Department will be giving out candy. There will

The John Day Fossil Beds National Monument center will
host activities and events throughout the day, including hands-
on lessons, a film, a practice fossil lab from 1-3:30 p.m. and
45-minute exhibit tours at 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Participate in
