Country act Lonestar was the headliner, packing the stands Fri- day evening, with Nate Bosford opening and Britnee Kellogg per- forming Saturday. Local kids exhibited animals before Saturday’s 4-H/FFA live- stock auction, and a variety of events got the community in- volved. About 30 children and their mothers participated in the Grant County Fair Kids Pa- Grant County Fair parade results rade on Friday. Led by the Boy Scout Troop 800 color guard, the children wore boots, chaps and cowboy hats as they rode bikes, pulled wagons and escorted dogs and goats through downtown John Day. Grant County Fair Princess Courtney Nichols judged the en- tries at the end, and everyone was a winner, with each child receiv- ing a Dairy Queen token for free ice cream. Thirty-three entries participat- ed in the 109th Grant County Fair parade on Saturday morning.
