The Ellis Tracy Unit of the American Legion Auxiliary will

• Prairie City park
In honor of National Day of the Cowboy, a variety of events
will take place. A stick horse and dog costume parade, dog cos-
tume and talent contest, dog agility exhibition, stick horse ro-
deo, sack races, ag olympics, barbecue, horseshoe tournament
and concert will fill the day’s activities. For more information

Community concert
• 7 p.m., Prairie City Community Hall
Brenn Hill and Andy Nelson will perform. Special guest is
Kathy Moss. Tickets are $20 in advance and are available at

Youth Arts Program camp

The market features a variety of locally grown produce,

Teams of four will compete for cash and other prizes. Pro-
ceeds go to health care improvements at the Blue Mountain

Cinnabar Mountain Playdays

Registration for the youth rodeo begins at 8 a.m. Contes-
tants are encouraged to dress in pink for the theme, “Tough
enough to wear pink.” Membership for participants is $30
for a one-time fee, and entry fees are $10 per day or $2 per
event. The event is free for spectators. For more informa-

Community health assessment meetings
• Monday, 6 p.m., Prairie City Legion Hall
• Tuesday, 6 p.m., Seneca Community Hall
A short presentation about the role of public health in the
community will be followed by a discussion of local health
challenges, totaling approximately one hour. A community
health assessment is a systemic examination of health status
indicators in a population, used to identify and address the
community’s health needs. Information about future commu-
