This is a full-time position in the
Public Works Department as
Utility Worker 1. This position
will perform a variety of manu-
al and semi-skilled tasks in the
general construction and main-
tenance of city streets, sew-
ers, water system, parks and
related work as required. The
successful applicant will need
knowledge of the rules of safe
operation of equipment, how to
avoid accidents, knowledge of
appropriate tools, equipment
method, materials and proce-
dures used in general mainte-
nance and construction work.
The person in this position must
be able to establish and main-
tain harmonious working rela-
tionships with other employees
and the general public. The
position requires some experi-
ence in general maintenance or
construction work. High school
diploma or GED, valid Oregon
driver’s license, and ability to
become certified in water and
sewer system operations. This
position is required to assume
on-call duty as assigned. At
such time the person in the po-
sition must be readily available
to respond to calls. In addition,
the person in this position may
be called out after hours in case
of emergency in the city. Begin-
ning salary $14.50-$15.50 DOE,
plus full benefits, after complet-
ing 6-month probation period.
