Cars for a Cause event shines at fairgrounds

Old and new vehicles were
gleaming during the “Cars for
a Cause” show Saturday at the
Grant County Fairgrounds in
John Day.
McKeely Miller, who will
be a Grant Union senior this
fall, organized the event to
fulfill her senior project grad-
uation requirement ahead of
schedule.
The array of cars and
trucks, 21 in all, included a
2017 C7 Grand Sport Cor-
vette, which Miller’s grand-
father Bill Thomason recent-
ly purchased.
“My parents and grand-
parents helped with every-
thing,” Miller said. “A lot of
people I invited came out.”
Other vehicles in the mix
included muscle cars, antique
trucks, classic cars and Euro-
pean luxury models, as well
as a couple 4x4s.
