day, May 18. There will be a $5 charge for displaying three
pieces of work from artists and photographers, and a $5 charge
for authors. Help setting up for the show would be appreciated.

The roundup is for children who will be 5 years old before
Sept. 1. A birth certificate and copy of their immunization re-
cord is required.

Anyone interested in helping clean up can show up, and
groups of three or more may call ahead in order to provide a
general head count for lunch, which will be provided for the
volunteers. Those who plan to be working outside are asked to

Experienced Trauma” and focuses on helping parents, foster
parents and other caregivers. Friday’s presentation is “Trauma
Informed Care for Professionals” and offers help in understand-
ing children who have experienced trauma. For more informa-

Mother’s Day treats

The museum will offer free admission to mothers and a

Living History tours
• 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Grant County Historical Museum,
Canyon City
Tours will cover the museum, featuring live actors and pre-
sentations of Grant County’s background and some of its most
famous figures, and will also visit nearby St. Thomas Episco-
pal Church, a 142-year-old church that has survived three fires
during Canyon City’s history. The cost is $10 for adults, $5 for
children ages 7-17, and children under 7 are free. Participants
are asked to preregister at bmlt.org/upcomingevents/2018/5/19/

Seneca Oyster Feed
Second Saturday gathering
Farmers Market meeting

Ladies of Grant County are invited to the gathering. The
theme will be “Enough is Enough” with a short video. Music
will be performed by Kathy Rogers and Lis Mulder at the no-
host breakfast. Coffee and tea are complimentary.

market are encouraged to attend the meeting, with a no-host

The 27th annual Seneca Oyster Feed will feature live music,
a softball tournament, a golf scramble and all-you-can-eat oys-

hand out over $1,000 in prizes. The People Mover will provide
shuttle services from John Day to Seneca. To register for soft-

John Barry Rose Memorial Invitational Ranch
Rodeo
• 5 p.m., Crook County Fairgrounds indoor arena, Prineville
In memory of 15-year-old John Barry Rose of Burns who
died in 2016, the rodeo is a scholarship fundraiser for Oregon
high school rodeo contestants. Admission is $10, and kids 5 and

Be a tai chi leader
Community Connection of
Northeast Oregon is looking
for volunteers to become tai
chi leaders, who would receive
training and be required to hold
12-week tai chi workshops at
senior centers or other approved
locations. Classes are held twice
a week for one hour. Volunteers
are required to collect partici-
pant information and take atten-

RAC nominations
sought
The Bureau of Land Man-
agement is seeking public nom-
inations for positions on 30 cit-
izen-based Resource Advisory
Councils, sounding boards for
BLM initiatives, proposals and
policy changes.
Individuals may nominate
themselves or others to serve on
a council. Nominees must be res-
idents of the state or states where
the RAC has jurisdiction. Letters
of reference must accompany all
nominations from any represent-
ed interests or organizations, a
completed RAC application and
any other information that speaks
to the nominee’s qualifications.
Commodity interests, conser-
vation interests and community
interests will be represented. The
BLM will consider nominations
until June 4.
