A 71-year-old man from La Pine died
May 7 after drifting off a forest road and
rolling down a steep embankment.
Frank Corey Fox, the sole occupant of
the vehicle, died at the scene, Grant County
Sheriff Glenn Palmer said.
The sheriff’s office received a report
around 5:02 p.m. about a crash on Forest
Road 2045 on the Malheur National Forest
near Camp Creek and the Middle Fork of
the John Day River.
Evidence indicated that the black 1986
Mitsubishi left the single-lane road at a cor-
ner and rolled at least six times down a steep
embankment and came to rest on the pas-
senger-side door. The driver was not wear-
ing a seat belt and was partially ejected.
