NATIONAL FOREST TIMBER FOR SALE
MALHEUR NATIONAL FOREST
The Summit LP SSTS Sale is located within T 15S R 35E sections
33 and 34, T 16S R 34E sections 2, 3, and 11. The Forest Service
will receive sealed bids in public at Malheur National Forest, Super-
visor’s Office at 10:00 AM local time on 06/06/2018 for an estimated
volume of 422 CCF of Lodgepole Pine and other coniferous species
sawtimber, and 904 CCF of Lodgepole Pine and other coniferous
species grn bio cv marked or otherwise designated for cutting. This
sale is set aside for small business firms with 25 or fewer employees.
If no small business concern makes a valid bid, the Forest Service
will readvertise this sale without restrictions on bidder size. The For-
est Service reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Interested
parties may obtain a prospectus from the office listed below. A pro-
spectus, bid form, and complete information concerning the timber,
the conditions of sale, and submission of bids is available to the pub-
lic from the Malheur National Forest, 431 Patterson Bridge Rd, John

2018 the County Elections Officer received the following Ballot Title
for a prospective initiative. The prospective initiative petition was de-
termined to comply with the Constitutional requirements.
In accordance with ORS 250.168(4) an elector dissatisfied with the
determination may file a petition for review in the Grant County Cir-
cuit Court no later than 5pm, May 14, 2018 (seven business days).
Ballot Title Caption: EXPANDS DEFINITION OF FIREARMS AND
LIMITS ENFORCEMENT OF FIREARMS LAWS.
Question: Should Grant County expand constitutional definition of
firearms and prohibit enforcement of laws that regulate their manu-
facture, sale, and possession?
Summary: Approval of this measure would mandate that in Grant
County, the Oregon and United States Constitutional definitions of
firearms be interpreted as including ammunition and firearms acces-
sories.
Approval of this measure would make unconstitutional in Grant
County any law or regulation that restricts a person from possessing
firearms, ammunition, and firearms accessories.
Approval of this measure would require the Grant County Sheriff to
review federal, state, and local laws affecting firearms, firearms ac-
cessories, and/or ammunition and determine whether they violate
the United States and Oregon Constitutions as defined by this mea-
sure.
Approval of this measure would prohibit Grant County Government
from enforcing any law that restricts the right of people to possess
firearms, firearms accessories, and/or ammunition.
And approval of this measure would subject people or corporations
who violate this measure to a fine of up to $2,000 for an individual
and $4,000 for a corporation.
The effective date of the measure would be 30 days after the day
on which it is enacted or approved by the majority of the votes cast
thereon.
