A2 Family Blue Mountain Eagle Wednesday, March 21, 2018 O BITUARIES Dillon James Barousse Jan. 29, 1983 - March 12, 2018 Dillon James Barousse, 35, of Se- quim, Washington, passed away March 12 in Quinault, Washington. A proud forestry technician with the U.S. For- est Service, Barousse died of natural causes while working on a tree in the Olympic National Forest. Barousse was born Jan. 29, 1983, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where he skate- boarded and fell in love with the out- doors. He played drums in a garage band (¡On the Attack!), worked as a bike messenger and became a wilderness EMT. He loved hunting, fishing, punk music, hiking, snowboarding, reading, boating and adventuring around the world. For several years he lived and worked in Alaska, where he met his wife, Holly, at a roller derby bout, before moving to John Day for a while and settling in Washington. Barousse made friends easily with humans and animals alike. On behalf of the Forest Service, he fought many a wild- fire and was regarded as a gifted woodsman. He bonded deeply with the Olympic National Forest, where he put down roots and dreamed of growing old with Holly. He is gone too soon. His wild heart, grandiose beard, fondness for poetry, philanthropy and taste for adventure live on within everybody who loves him. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Holly Marie Rebert Barousse; his parents, Peter and Donna Barousse; and brother Kyle Barousse.
