With just a handful of
seconds left, Bobcat Autumn
Daggett sank a 2-point shot.
Grant Union and Union had
even scoring, 12-12, in the fi-
nal quarter.
“We pressured their guards
the whole night,” Hallgarth
said. “Our tenacity on defense
probably contributed to about
70 percent of our points. We
missed a lot of lay-ins, but we
also shot a lot.”
He said several girls con-
tributed to the game.
“Our bench is starting to
come alive,” he said. “Those
girls are starting to match the
tenacity and intensity of our
starters.”
Moulton said she was ex-
cited for another league win.
“We started out the game
running the ball and had
great defense,” she said. “We
prepared for it all week and
came out ready.”
Grant Union topped Im-
bler 67-19 on Saturday, nev-
er allowing the Panthers the
lead.
“I thought our team per-
formed at a high level even
though the score is mislead-
ing,” Hallgarth said. “We talk
about coming out ready to
go — that is the theme this
week. Our defense has car-
ried us all year, and we need
to hit our stride from here on

“We haven’t reached our

said. “We think our heavy-
weights have good chances.
For our first-year qualifiers,
state is tough. Our goal (for

potential to be placers.”
This is the first time since
2010 that Grant Union has had
six wrestlers qualify for state.
