fense District, along with city
and rural fire departments,
has implemented regulated
closure, and people are en-
couraged to check with local
jurisdictions for specific regu-
lations.
The Forest Service and the
Oregon Department of Forest-
ry have implemented regula-
tions as well. Check with the

Silvies Valley Ranch owners
show retreat and golf links
By Angel Carpenter
Blue Mountain Eagle
Scott and Sandy Campbell
rolled out the welcome mat
Friday, July 7, for a tour of
their state-of-the-art facilities
at The Retreat and Links at
Silvies Valley Ranch.
Over 20 Grant County
community leaders enjoyed a
first peek at the property lo-
cated about five miles south of
Seneca.
Tygh Campbell led the
group in golf carts for a tour of
the grounds, sharing the prog-
ress and plans laid out for the
resort.
He explained the work that
went into creating golf cours-
es, including the Egan Course,
Craddock and Hankins revers-
ible championship 18-hole
courses and the seven-hole
ridge course and mountain
meadow nine-hole par 3
course.
Visitors walked inside the
off-grid Chief Egan Hideout,
a clubhouse powered by solar
energy, where Tygh answered
questions.
A spa, complete with a lap
pool, workout area, climbing
wall and a place for massages
and facials, is planned for next
year.
The tour included the recep-
tion area and gift shop, which
has horse stables nearby, and
the luxury apartments and cab-
ins, which overlook a pond.
There are a total of 36 rooms.
A dinner, held at the lodge
deck, included “mile-high”
hamburgers and apple crisp for
dessert.
The Campbells said they
hope to attract world travel-
ers to the ranch, and the resort
is open to Grant and Harney
county residents as well, with
discounted prices for golfing
and the restaurant.
So far, there are 93 people
employed at Silvies Ranch
with 140-160 jobs expected by
2020.
