FFA SHOWMAN’S CREED
As a showman, I believe in being honest and not
taking unfair advantage of my fellow FFA members: I
am proud to be a member of the FFA and subscribe to
its Code of Ethics and I demonstrate good sportsman-
ship at all times.
I believe in the humane treatment of all animals
under my care. I treat them with respect and provide
for their well being at all times. I do not use abusive
nor questionable techniques when showing my ani-
mals, or do I resort to fraudulent, illegal or deceptive
practices when fitting them for show.
I believe that my participation in the FFA Livestock
Program should serve to demonstrate my own ability
and skill as a feeder and fitter. I do my own work and
accept only advice and support from others.
I am proud of the official FFA jacket and do not allow
or participate in activities that serve to discredit it or
the chapter it represents. I am confident in my own
abilities in the show ring and do not need, nor, will I
tolerate coaching from the sideline. I quickly follow the
instructions of the officials and do my best to make the
show better for everyone.
I understand that I have an important role in ed-
ucating the public about animal agriculture. I take this
responsibility to the FFA and my industry seriously.
