Purpose: NRCS is holding a local work group meeting
to gather input from farmers, ranchers, state and federal
agencies, agriculture and conservation organizations
regarding natural resource conservation priorities and
opportunities to invest collaboratively in Grant County.

2017 Annual Meeting
Grant County, Oregon invites proposals from licensed
insurance agents or brokers to act as the county’s
Agent of Record for the purpose of placing the county’s
property and casualty, boiler and machinery, errors and
omissions, bonding, liability, and all insurance needs and
risk management services except employee benefits.
Appointment is for three fiscal years beginning July 1, 2017.
Insurance proposals should include qualifications and
experience in writing and servicing public businesses.
Obtain copies of the Selection Criteria and Proposal Form
from the County Court office before submitting a proposal.
Property / Liability Insurance Agent of Record proposals
must be submitted to Grant County at 201 S. Humbolt St,
Box 280, Canyon City, OR 97820 by 4 pm Friday, February
10, 2017. Questions may be directed to County Judge Scott
W. Myers at 541-575-0059. Grant County reserves the right
to reject any or all proposals upon the finding that is in the
best interest of the county to do so.

OWEB Land Acquisition Grant Program, concerning
approximately 6785 acres in the vicinity of the City of
Mitchell, Grant Application No. 217-9903. The Oregon
Watershed Enhancement Board (OWEB) is a state agency
that provides grants to help Oregonians take care of local
streams, rivers, wetlands, and natural areas.
OWEB is considering a grant of funds to Northwest
Rangelands Trust for the purpose of purchasing certain
property rights on approximately 6785 acres in the vicinity
of the City of Mitchell, in Wheeler County, under Grant
Application No. 217-9903. OWEB will hold a conservation
easement, or third party rights of enforcement in a
conservation easement, if the property rights are purchased
with OWEB funds.
OWEB will hold a public hearing for the purpose of providing
interested parties with a meaningful opportunity to comment
on the OWEB grant application. Questions or comments
about the grant application, or public hearing, are to be
directed to the OWEB representative identified below.
