Greater Prairie City Community Association
Established in 1997
• Annually sponsor, with volunteers and financial support, the 4th
of July celebration for Grant County in Prairie City
• Organized, sponsored and carried out a scrap metal drive for the
beautification of Prairie City and surrounding areas. This activity
included collecting over 125 junked automobiles
• Financially sponsored a Prairie City High School student to serve
as State President of the Future Farmers of America (FFA)
organization
• Planned and arranged for development of the
prairiecityoregon.com website and continue to maintain
contact with the web master to add events and information
• Financially sponsored six Prairie City High School students to
attend the national Family Career Community Leaders of
America convention, where all six members attending achieved
gold medals in judged competitions (No other school attained
this distinction)
• Invested in the purchase of a new glass crusher, improving
safety, for the Prairie City Recycling Center
• Provided $10,000 toward the construction of Prairie City Park
restrooms through a successful grant application
• Financially supported and provided volunteers to the Oregon
Solutions landscaping and painting of the Prairie City School
• Maintain and sell advertising in the Conestoga Wagon Visitor
Information Center on Dixie Mountain Summit
• Financially sponsored a Prairie City High School student to

attend the Youth Leadership Forum in Washington, D.C.
• Financially sponsored Talents & Treasures and supported
HOWDY Town and Camp Logan
• Established a community lending library for leadership,
community development, fund raising and other resource
assistance for non-profits and community groups
SINCE 2004 GPCCA HAS GIVEN BACK $72,402 TO THE
COMMUNITY
Mission Statement: The Prairie City Community Center is a
gathering place that supports the social, cultural,
educational and economic well-being of our community.
Vision Statement: To have the Prairie City Community Center
open full time so the community can take part in social
events, classes, and movie nights for all ages, and the many
music concerts we have enjoyed in the past.
Who We Are: The GPCCA is a group of local business owners
and community members who work to enhance the livability
and economic well-being for the residents of Prairie City. We
sponsor events and activities that enhance the livability,
visual presentation, economic well-being, participation of
volunteers, and development of community leaders in
Prairie City.
