Volunteer to be a project leader, resource leader,
mentor, chaperone, or partner.
4-H programs are grounded in the belief that kids learn best by doing. Kids complete
hands-on projects in areas like science, health, agriculture and citizenship, in a positive
environment where they receive guidance from adult mentors, they are encouraged to
take on proactive leadership roles. Kids can concentrate on one focus area or they can try
a variety of programs throughout their 4-H experience.
Regardless of the project area, all 4-H programs include mentoring and career readiness
as core elements. In order to build a strong diverse 4-H program that provides
opportunity for all Grant County youth we are always looking for new volunteers to
develop and lead our youth in new project areas.
Support our local 4-Hers by buying a market animal at our 4-H/FFA youth livestock
auction. One of the greatest values of the 4-H Livestock Programs is that it allows 4-H’ers
the opportunity to gain confidence in themselves by caring for something that is 100%
dependent on them.
Sponsor a 4-H award: Each year at fair we recognize our 4-H members’ hard work with
awards and recognition for outstanding work in their project areas. Award sponsorship
start at $30.00.
Sponsor full or partial scholarships for local 4-Hers to attend one of the many 4-H camps
available to them. Camps consist of Eastern Oregon Leadership Retreat ($100 full
scholarship), OSU Summer Conference ($200 full scholarship), 4-H Camp ($220 full
scholarship), Natural Resource Camp ($110 full scholarship), 4-H Summer Day Camps ($20
full scholarship)
Support our annual fundraising efforts by buying citrus or visiting us at our fireworks
booth.
