Lady Pros sweep Elgin
Grant Union
preps for Imbler
on the road
By Angel Carpenter
Blue Mountain Eagle
The Lady Pros sailed to a
3-0 homecoming win over the
Elgin Huskies on Friday after-
noon.
Scores in the game were 25-
9, 25-15 and 25-10.
“One of our goals for the
match was to focus on con-
trolling the ball, playing better
defense and executing better
offense,” said head coach Shae
Speth, adding she felt the team
accomplished that goal.
Grant Union junior Mariah
Moulton led the way with 12
kills, followed by sophomore
Kaylee Wright with 10 kills.
Senior Chelsie Kodesh was
100 percent on serving and
serve-receive with 16 digs.
Grant Union hosted Enter-
prise Saturday, again taking a
sweep, with scores of 25-16,
25-15 and 25-15.
The Prospectors will spend
this week preparing for their
away game against Imbler,
scheduled for 5 p.m. Friday, be-
ginning with junior varsity I and
II, followed by varsity.
“We’ll look at making a
few adjustments to our game
plan and minimizing our own
errors,” Speth said. “We be-
lieve that we will have to play
our best match in order to win,
but that they will need to do the
same.”
Grant Union claimed a hard-
fought home-game win over
Imbler on Sept. 29. Currently,
Imbler (23-2) is ranked No.
2 after Culver for OSAA 2A
teams, and Grant Union is No.
3. (21-3).
Grant Union hosts Union
for the Dig Pink rally at 1 p.m.
Saturday beginning with junior
varsity.
