MEMORIES
A POEM BY A.K. MOSS
This animal on the wall with memories untold,
The history of our ancestors, brought through those eyes so bold.
The meat that fed our families from years ago, till now,
The search of inner truth, the trials and challenges I vow.
To see life as it is true to be, not take it for granted,
Leave nature as I found it and use the food God had planted.
This animal on the wall the beauty it beholds
Makes the mystery of life and death begin to unfold.
Oh Lord I thank you for this animal, the food and warmth it brings
Give me a chance to be worthy of your dreams,
Give me courage to hold truth in life, death and all in between.
And the trials I endure let me learn from what I've seen.
God I hang this on the wall so forget I will never,
The beauty you have given us in life and death together.
