Items of unusual or exceptional quality may be
on display. Items for display will be accepted at
the discretion of the superintendent. These
items will not be judged or prizes awarded.

1. Only one entry per exhibiter will be allowed in
a category or a lot.
2. All work entered into this division must have
been completed by the exhibitor since the most
recent county fair and never have been exhibit-
ed in former Grant County Fairs.
3. Entries must be clean.
4. Superintendent can recommend class and lot
placement of entry.
5. Entries considered too fragile, too large or
small, or valuable may be turned away because
of risks.
6. Identification must be securely attached to
exhibit.
7. While the utmost care is taken, handling en-
tries, the Grant County Fair will NOT be respon-
sible for loss or damage of an entry.
8. No premiums shall be awarded when an ex-
hibit does not merit placement even though
there is no competition.
9. Where there is no competition in a class,
awards may be given at the judges discretion.
10. Lego creations must be secured to base
and snugly assembled so as to prevent disas-
sembly when moved

OPEN CLASS
LIVESTOCK
GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS
1. All Open Class Livestock must preregister by
July 22. No exceptions. If livestock have not
been preregistered, they will not be accepted for
exhibit. All open livestock exhibitors must have
their exhibit area cleaned and a supervisor must
sign their Clean Barn Card to receive their premi-
ums.
2. Entries for the Livestock and Small Animal
Depts have an “Open Class Livestock and
Small Animal Entry Form” included in the Fair
Guide.
4. Open Class Livestock will be entered on
Tuesday morning.
5. All exhibits must be entered and exhibited in
the name of the legal owner.
6. Owner or attendant must be present during
judging of livestock entries.
7. No interference with the judges during the
judging will be allowed; persons doing so will for-
feit the right to premiums.
8. All entries of purebred cattle shall contain
name and number as shown on the Certificate of
Registration.
9. All grade stock of the same breed shall follow
the sire.
10. In all cases, the right is reserved to reject, or
accept conditionally any entry or application at
any time, at the discretion of the Superintendent.
11. The judge will in no case award a premium
where there is no merit, even if it is the only one
animal entered in the Class/Lot.

13. If it is ascertained that an animal is entered in
a Class or Lot in which it does not properly
belong, no placing will result and no premiums
will be paid.
14. All animals are subject to inspection by a vet-
erinarian upon admission to the Fairgrounds. No
animal or bird that shows evidence of any infec-
tious or contagious disease shall be allowed to
remain on the grounds.
15. Only those animals entered in the Fair may be
housed on the Fairgrounds during the Fair.
16. All animals not manageable at the time of the
Fair will not be acceptable as entries and must be
removed from the Fairgrounds. The decision
shall be the option of the Superintendent and
shall be final.
17. All cattle entered in Registered Breeding
Classes must be registered and recorded with a
recognized breed association. Registration cer-
tificates or legal photo static copies of certificates
must be available on request. Where there has
been a transfer of ownership, the transfer must
have been effected in the records of the breed as-
sociation and so shown on the registration cer-
tificate.
*Exceptions:
• Exhibitors whose breed association required
an inspector’s approval prior to registering may
present a statement by the secretary of the asso-
ciation that the animal is otherwise eligible to be
registered if the statement identifies the animal
by birthrate, sire, dam, and ear tag, tattoo or
notching and the animal will not be over 12
months of age on the opening day of the Fair.
• Qualified animals from one established herd
operated as a breeding unit even though regis-
tered individually to different members of a
family or breeding partnership must be shown
by one partner in individual Lots or classes and
shown in group classes by the breeder of animal.
Partnership ownership of animals must show on
registration certificate.
18. Exhibitors must at all times give the neces-
sary personal attention to all animals they have
entered for exhibit. All animals are to be clean and
well-groomed throughout the show. Stall and
pen areas are to have sufficient clean bedding
and aisle-ways are to be maintained in a clean
and uncluttered condition at all times.
19. During Fair, straw and manure must be re-
moved daily from stall or cage and hauled to an
area designated by the Livestock Superintendent.
All morning clean-up work is to be completed by
8:30 a.m.
20. Each exhibitor is expected to furnish feed and
bedding for his/her own animals.
21. Animals offered for sale at the fair are not to
be removed from the fair after 10 p.m. Saturday
of fair.
22. All beef and dairy animals must be broke to
halter and must be double tied with separate
ropes (neck ropes and halter rope). All bulls must
be broke to nose leads and will be required to
have nose leads in place when being shown
and/or lead on grounds.
23. Junior yearling females that have dropped
offspring are barred from showing.
24. All females (beef classes) 24 months of age
