GRANT COUNTY Donna Palmer Lucas Moore I was born and raised in Grant County. One of 5 children, my parents Rusty and Peggy Clark made volunteering a must. I par- ticipated as ‘62 days Queen in 1978 and was a Princess on the 1981 Grant County Fair and Rodeo Court. I was active in 4H Livestock for 9 years as well as High School and Junior Rodeo. When I moved back to Grant County in 2012 I knew I wanted to get involved again and because of my love for the County Fair I became a board member. We are doing many great things here at the Grant County Fairgrounds and I look forward to seeing many old familiar faces at the fair as well as meeting new ones. I am a rancher in Bear Valley. I have been a resident of Grant County my whole life. My wife and I have two daughters and are expecting our third. All will probably have something to do with the fair in their lives and that is why I became a member of the Grant County Fair Board in November 2014. To help the Grant County Fair stay one of our main attractions and to be involved in our community, not only for my kids, but for the youth of Grant County. Sherry Nehl My husband, Ryan, and I were born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana. As adults we moved around the Midwest before decid- ing to follow our (his!) dream and go West. We arrived in John Day last summer and are so glad to be here. Our four boys love their new town, too, and we have met the nicest people. M.T. Anderson I am a rancher in Izee, OR. My wife Cori and I have 3 children who are all active in 4-H and FFA. We moved to Grant County in 2004 and think it is a great place to call home. My wife is the leader of the Izee Livestock 4-H club and we both are passionate about seeing kids get involved in the livestock industry. We have a commercial cow/calf operation as well as a purebred Hereford seedstock operation. We sell Hereford bulls and show cattle all across the west. In addition to our cattle operation we also are partners in a large scale quarter horse operation. Our horses are marketed annually through a production sale. Shanna Northway I grew up in Grant County 4-H and FFA so I guess you could say life has come full circle. I graduated from OSU in 2005 with a bachelors in General Agriculture and a Masters in Agriculture Education. I met and married the best sidekick ever while attending college and we now have three future 4-Hers (Adeline, Emmalyn, Clive). I worked for 2 years as the agricul- ture instructor/FFA advisor at Grant Union High school and then moved into instructing at Blue Mountain Alternative School for 3 years. I started my career with Extension in March of 2014 and it is a great fit and allows me to do everything I am passionate about. I love to be engaged in our community through several different boards, athletics and our schools. GO BEAVS!! PAGE 10 ★ GRANT COUNTY FAIR ★ 2016 John Girvin I work for the County Road Department. I moved to John Day about a year ago with my wife Brandi and our four girls, Dalli, Paytin, Kori Jo, and Danielle. We all have a love of the great outdoors and animals. I know I will be involved with them in all spects of 4-H and FFA. I will bring my knowledge and skills to the Grant County Fair.
