BMFP fi eld trip
• 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Bear Valley
Blue Mountains Forest Partners is hosting a fi eld trip to visit
the Soda Bear project near Bear Valley. The group will visit
treated areas to consider how well they meet desired outcomes
and contribute to resilient forest conditions in the future. The
public is welcome. Bring food and water, and dress for the
weather. Transportation will be provided to and from the Forest
Supervisor’s Offi ce, 431 Patterson Bridge Road, John Day.

Mt. Vernon bazaar, yard sale
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday
The “Flip it Bazaar” is a two-day event held in the Mt. Ver-
non Community Center. The cost for a 10x10-foot booth is $20
for both days. The Mt. Vernon Fire Department will serve a lunch
of “fi rehouse” lasagna, garlic bread and drinks for $6 a person
from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Desserts will also be available for pur-
chase. The town is also holding a community-wide yard sale both
days. To get on the map for the yard sale or for a vendor booth at

BMW Rally
• BMW riders gather annually at the Grant County Fair-
grounds in John Day, to enjoy three days of exploring Grant

JOHN DAY — From
blood tests and immuniza-
tions to information on health
issues and services, the annu-
al Grant County Health Fair
has plenty to offer to keep the
community in good shape.
This is the 22nd year for
the event, scheduled for 6
a.m. to noon Friday, June 17,
at the Grant Union Junior-Se-
nior High School new gym.
Several health care pro-
viders will be participating
again this year with over 40
different booths.
The cost for the blood
test this year is $15. Peo-
ple should fast for 12 hours
before having their blood
drawn; water and medica-
tions are OK.
Grant County Health De-
partment will provide A1C
testing for $10, and the HGB
(iron) test is free. Vaccines
for pneumonia, Prevnar13
and Tdap will also be avail-
able and can be billed to in-
surance, so people are urged
to bring their insurance cards.

assist fellow citizens by do-
nating to a fund to provide
scholarships to allow those
less fortunate to have their
blood tested at the Grant
County Health Fair. Several
scholarships were made pos-
sible last year.
