Sarah Christine Cary and Bryce
Daniel Heitstuman, of Clarkston,
Washington, have announced their
engagement to be married.
The bride-to-be is the daughter
of David and Andrea Cary of Bend,
and Dennis and Christy Waggoner
of Prairie City. She graduated from
Grant Union High School in 2007
and Lewis Clark State College in
2013, and works for Commercial
Loan Processor at Potlatch No. 1
Federal Credit Union.
The prospective groom is the son of Wayne and
Becky Heitstuman of Anatone, Washington. He gradu-
ated from Asotin High School in 2007 and Walla Walla
Community College in 2008, and is employed at S & H
Livestock.
The couple plan a June 18 wedding in Asotin, Wash.

Michael Earl Greear, 66, died
May 16 at his Prairie City home.
Greear was born May 23, 1949,
in Prairie City, to Elwood and Leola
Greear. He grew up in Bates where
he attended school until the third
grade. He then attended Oregon
State School for the Deaf in Salem,
his second home, where he made
many lifelong friends.
He attended Utah State Universi-
ty in Logan, Utah, where he met the love of his life, Claudia
Stowell. They married on Jan. 22, 1971, in Bountiful, Utah.
They lived in Bates and then Prairie City. He worked as a
millwright at Hines Lumber — later, John Day Lumber. His
hobbies included classic car restoration, carpentry, hunting,
mechanics, camping, motocross and snowmobiling.
He and his wife were active in the Grant County Snow-
ballers and the Grant County Kruzers.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Claudia; daugh-
ters, Randi (Mike) Cole, Kandi (Richard Teel) Greear, Millie
(John) Hicks and Kristen (Jared) Horrell; and six grandchil-
dren, Mackenzie, Brandon, Tyler, Brett, Josie and Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood
and Leola Greear, and his brother, Richard “Dick”
Greear.

Barbara Elaine (Krebs) Ray-
mond, 87, died May 21 in John Day.
A public memorial service will be at
3 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the John
Day Elks Lodge, 140 N.E. Dayton
St.
Raymond was born Nov. 22, 1928,
in Murray, Utah, to William George
and Norma (Poulter) Krebs.
In 1946, she married Byron Davis.
He died in 1986.
In July 1988, she married Arthur Raymond in Reno, Nevada.
She worked in restaurant and apartment management.
Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting and baking. In
her earlier years, she enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.
Her favorite times were with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur Raymond; son,
Tom (Susan) Davis; daughters, Lynda (Terry) Farrell and
Laura (Robert) Hire; sister, Sharon Skinner; brother, Ken-
neth Krebs; nine grandchildren; and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Geraldene Pet-
zold, Evelyn Fuller and Norma Stratton; and brother, Johnny
Krebs.

Dale Larkin
PRINEVILLE — Wayne Hanson, 65, formerly of John Day,
died May 19 at his Prineville home. A service will be at 11 a.m.
Tuesday, May 31, at the Eastside Church, 3174 N.E. Third St. in
Prineville. Dusty Flagel will offi ciate.
Hanson worked at Driskill Memorial Chapel in John Day. He
started and operated Whispering Pines Funeral Home in Prineville.
Arrangements are under the care of Whispering Pines, 3168
N.E. Third St., Prineville, OR 97754.
A memorial service for Dale Larkin will be at 2 p.m. Sat-
urday, May 28, at the Dayville Cemetery.
Larkin, of Prairie City, died Nov. 11, 2015, at age 51.
