Seneca Winter Classic snowmobile races
Seneca
Test and tune will be on Friday afternoon. On Saturday,
registration will be from 8-10 a.m. The races are set to start
at 10 a.m. with competitors vying for cash prizes. Vintage
snowmobiles will be on hand, and spectator admission is
free. The event is sponsored by the Grant County Snowbal-

Cecelia Teresa Houck
Dec. 13, 1936 — Jan. 21, 2016
BEND — Cecelia Teresa Houck, 79, of Dayville, died Jan.
21 at St. Charles Medical Center in Bend, with family by her
side. A service will be at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at Dayville
Presbyterian Church.
Houck was born Dec. 13, 1936, in Denver, to Celia Perea
and Bruce Callbeck.
She moved to Dayville in 2003.
Survivors include her sister, Terrie Moulton of Dayville;
daughter, Valaire Arellano of San Pedro, California; sons,
Steven Houck and Wayne Houck from Moore, Oklahoma;
granddaughters, Valarie Arellano and Monica (Sergio) Garcia;
grandson, Frankie Arellano; and great-grandchildren, Desiree
Armigio, Nathan Armigio, Joleen Garcia, Ricky Garcia and Na-
dine Garcia.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Katsu-
mi Manaka.
Rachel Rebecca Stewart
Oct. 13, 1918 — Jan. 18, 2016
REDMOND — Rachel Rebecca
“Becky” Stewart, 97, of Canyon City
died on Jan. 18 at her daughter and son-
in-law’s home in Redmond, where she
had been living since September 2012.
All are welcome to a celebration of
life at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 23, at the
John Day Senior Center.
Stewart was born Oct. 13, 1918,
in Vernonia, to Thomas and Margaret
(Spencer) Throop. She attended school
in Vernonia, and then her family moved
to Dayville, where she graduated from high school.
In 1938, she married Norman MacDonald, with whom she
had two daughters, Jeanie and Cathy. They lived on the Mac-
Donald ranch on Rock Creek below Dayville.
In 1956, he was killed in an accident. In 1958, she married
rancher Dalton Stewart from Dayville. He died in 2006.
The happiest years of her life were living on the ranch being
a rancher’s wife.
Survivors include her daughters, Cathy (Chris) Struck
and Jeanie Pauley; granddaughters, Kati (Brian), Angie
(Matt), Lindsey (Josh), Heather (Robb) and Annalisa (Terry);
great-grandchildren, Jonathan, Hardy, Klanci, Isaac, Dalton and
Adin; nieces and nephews; her youngest brother, Tommy of An-
chorage, Alaska; and a sister-in-law, Dollina Humphreys, who
lives at Blue Mountain Care Center in Prairie City.
She was preceded in death by three siblings.

Pamela Uebler
June 10, 1954 – Jan. 23, 2016
Pamela McIntosh Uebler, 61, of
John Day died Jan. 23 at her John
Day home surrounded by family and
friends. A viewing was held Jan. 29 and
a funeral service on Jan. 30. Interment
was at Canyon City Cemetery.
Uebler was born on June 10, 1954,
in Buffalo, New York, to Robert and
Margaret McIntosh. She attended and
graduated from the Kenmore West
High School in Kenmore, New York. In 1976, she graduated
from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry
in Syracuse, New York. She also studied engineering and har-
vesting at Oregon State University.
She served as a forester for North East Experiment Station in
New York, USFS Olympus National Forest in Washington, and
Malheur National Forest in Oregon where she was also promot-
ed to lands and mineral specialist for the last ¿ ve years before
retiring in 2012 after 35 years.
On Sept. 27, 1980, she married Edward H. Uebler at the St.
Aloysius Gonzaga Roman Catholic Church in Buffalo.
She enjoyed gardening, hunting, collecting Breyer horses,
feather and À ower arrangements, home construction, target
shooting and photography. She was af¿ liated with the Oregon
Bird Hunters Association, Grant County Sportsman’s Club and
the Society of American Foresters from 1975-1992.
Survivors include her husband, Edward Uebler of John
Day; sister, Mary McIntosh of Buffalo; brother-in-law, Rory
M. Brake of Buffalo; brother, Robert G. McIntosh of Buffalo;
brother and sister-in-law, Luke and Pam Uebler, and Margret
Otoka of Buffalo; and nieces and nephews, Bethany, Victoria,
Rachel, Robert, Ryan, Sarah, Luke, Kyle and Aaron.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mar-
garet McIntosh.
