EO Media Group/Joshua Bessex SPORTS YEAR IN REVIEW Highlights from area sports in 2015 By Angel Carpenter Blue Mountain Eagle The year is swiftly coming to a close, and looking back, there have been many athletes around the county who’ve pushed themselves to the limit in 2015. While there were plenty of exhilarating moments, here’s a glance back at just a few of the high points. Grant County track and ¿ eld teaPV coPpete at Vtate Making a big headline splash were athletes from three Grant County schools competing at the May 25-26 State Cham- pionship Track Meet at Eugene’s Hayward Field. Grant Union, Prairie City and Mon- ument teams each had athletes pulling out stellar performances. Grant Union Prospector Kori Pentzer was the 2A state champion long jumper with a leap of 1-5.25 she also ¿ nished second in the triple jump with 36-1.75 and was sixth in the 100-meter hurdles. -ozie 5ude had a fourth-place ¿ nish in shot put, ¿ fth in javelin and sixth in pole vault. Chelsie Kodesh ¿ nished fourth in jave- lin and 11th in discus.
