JOHN DAY – Football fans are in
for thrills, and some spills, as Grant
Union alumni football players and
high school football parents play under
the lights in Friday’s Old Man Football
game.
A taco feed is 5-6:30 p.m. at the
school cafeteria with the game begin-
ning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 a person for the din-

“They worked extremely
hard and played their hearts out,”
she said. “It was a tough loss for
all of the girls, but I am so very
proud of them. We are really
starting to click as a team, and I
have high hopes for this weekend
and the district tournament.”

DAYVILLE – The Dayville/
Monument Lady Tigers suffered
a heartbreaking loss to Adrian
last Friday, but gave the Ante-
lopes a challenge.
“The varsity played some
of the best volleyball they have
played all season,” said head
coach Tiffnie Schmadeka.
The scores were close in all the
sets: 22-25, 20-25 and 23-25.

SPRAY – For the fourth time since 2008, the Spray Rodeo has
been voted Independent Rodeo of the Year.
The announcement came at the Northwest Professional Rodeo
Finals Sept. 26 and 27 in Prineville.
Also awarded were B-D Rodeo’s Contractor of the Year; Scott
Allen, announcer of the year; and JJ Harrison, barrelman of the year.
The 2016 event is scheduled for May 28 and 29.
