RULES AND REGULATIONS
• To prevent children from running into the
path of a vehicle or animal, throwing of
candy or any other item is prohibited.
• Parade entry numbers must be visible on
the front, left side of the entry.
• Wording position: Sides: name of organi-
zation, Back: theme, Front: name of float.
• Floats must be completely decorated.
Decorating of the vehicle towing the float
including trailer tongues and wheels, may
increase points awarded.
Floats will be judged on a scale of one to
ten (one being low).
• Judging classification includes originality,
degree of difficulty and use of the theme.
• Horses and mules entered should be
cleaned and groomed.
• A riding family must consist of at least
two people.
• An attendant will remain with the entry
at all times.
• Entrants may be judged in only one cat-
egory.
• Entries from the Friday Kids parade will
be judged along with other entries.
• All operators of motorized vehicles will
be required to present a valid driver’s li-
cense, or show a valid parade certifica-
tion class card.
• Any Federal and State laws pertaining
to recreational units such as ATVs will
be followed.
• Anyone between 12 and 16 who desires
to participate in the parade with a motor-
ized unit must have ATV certification.
• Parking is available behind the school for
parade participants. Do not park in front of
the school.
• All decisions by the judges are final.
• The parade route begins at GUHS and
ends at the unpaved area east of
McDonald’s. Each entry must complete the
entire parade route. Entrants not complet-
ing the entire route may forfeit award.
Exceptions with a valid reason may be re-
quested by calling the Fair office 575-1900.
• To ease traffic congestion, parade partici-
pants shall remain at the end location until
the parade is over.
• The parade committee reserves the right
to make final decisions for all aspects of the
parade.
