    2015 Grant County Fair
GRAND MARSHALS
marge & art walton
Marge was born in Prairie
City in what is now the Blue
Mt. Care Center. Art, from Red
Oak, Iowa, moved to Oregon in
the fall of 1966. They have
lived in Grant County for 30
years.
Marge is a 55-year member of
the American Legion Auxiliary,
she has served as President of
the local unit and as District
President for 3 years. She cur-
rently serves on the Prairie City
School Board, Prairie Rural
Fire District and the Grant
County Planning Commission.
She is active in the Prairie City
Booster Cub and enjoys travel-
ing with the high school sports
teams as their scorekeeper. As a
SMART reader she enjoys
working with students in the
reading programs. As a former
4-H member, she realizes the
importance of 4-H in develop-
ing tomorrow’s citizens. She
also is a knitting leader and this
year, has a group of latch hook
Clover Buds.
Art was both a 4-H member
and participated in FFA while
living in Iowa and, today
serves as the 4-H shotgun
leader in the Prairie City area.
He is an active member of the
Grant County Shooting Sports
Club and the Bear Creek
Shooting Sports Club.
Previously he enjoyed many
years as a skydiver.
Marge and Art reside on a
small acreage just east of
Prairie City where they enjoy
viewing the wildlife and spend-
ing time in the mountains.
