What’s new at the DeWitt

For the Blue Mountain Eagle
The Sumpter Valley Rail-
way Depot and DeWitt Mu-
seum in Prairie City opened
for the season on May 13.
We have a new member
on the museum crew: David
Ranseen is our new opera-
tions supervisor in charge
of the volunteer scheduling,
plus many other responsibil-
ities. He is a great addition to
our staff.
Over the winter months,
our volunteers, Bob and Dot-
WLH 0LOOHU /XNH +ROORZHOO
and Joy Waterhouse, have
put more than 200 hours into
the repairs and cleaning of
the second story windows,
moving two of the rooms to
create a better display, and
painting the cattle car to get
ready for an additional out-
door exhibit.
Also new this season are

married on Sept. 5, 1952.
She only completed school through grade 8, but decided at

The biggest part of her life was raising her family, and the
friends they brought home. She was strict when necessary, but
also provided a hot meal or a bed to anyone needing a safe place.
