Weather spotters
Volunteers can
take training in
John Day
Blue Mountain Eagle
JOHN DAY – Volunteers
should mark their calen-
dars for the next Skywarn
Weather Spotter training,
coming up Tuesday, May
26, at the Grant County
Regional Airport in John
Day.
The training is free. It
starts at 1 p.m. and lasts
about two hours. Advance
registration is not required.
There will be light
refreshments and door
prizes. The training is
co-sponsored by Grant
County Emergency Man-
agement.
Weather
spotters
trained by the National
Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration’s National
Weather Service are key
volunteers who assist me-
teorologists by providing
up-to-date
information
about storm activity.
