About $7,000 remains to pay for the track, and Sher- mayne hopes to raise that with an email campaign. “Everyone will be asked to email four people and ask for a donation of $10 or more to the Track Restoration Committee,” she said. The campaign will begin April 10. Checks may be made out to Grant School District No. 3, with “Track Restoration Committee” written in the memo area of the check, and mailed to: 401 N. Canyon City Blvd., Canyon City, OR 97820. A dinner for donors to the track will be held at the Can- yon City Community Hall at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 14. To celebrate the new track, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held the following day at Grant Union at the district WUDFNDQG¿HOGFRPSHWLWLRQ It took three years of rais- ing donations and applying for grants to bring the $365,000 project to fruition.
