SNOWMOBILING
Snowmobilers will find cool sledding and a warm welcome from Grant County Snowballers.
T
he club grooms and maintains trails – more
than 860 miles of them in the local mountains
– for all levels of experience. The scenery and
variety make Grant County one of the premiere
destinations for snowmobilers. Club volunteers also
cut firewood for the snow shelter at Huddleston
Snowpark, which is a hub for many popular trails. There is
ample parking for RVs and trailers; a Sno-Park Pass is
required for parking.
The club also participates in poker runs and other
activities, and organizes the Seneca Winter Classic
snowmobile races, usually held in February.
The group meets at 7 p.m., the first Monday of each
month, November-April, at the Outpost Restaurant in John
Day, and visitors are always welcome.
