EO Forum eyes climate impacts
Blue Mountain Eagle
PENDLETON – The
Eastern Oregon Forum will
host a program on “Climate
Change: Impacts to the
Mid-Columbia Basin” at 7
p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 10, in
room ST-200 in the Science
& Technology Building at
Blue Mountain Community
College in Pendleton.
Tickets are $6 at the door.
Students are admitted free.
The forum will examine
current climate trends local-
ly, and explore the impacts
and opportunities related to
the Blue Mountains uplands,
forests and local agriculture.
Speakers will include:
Mary C. Wister, science and

HINES – The Emigrant
Creek Ranger District is seeking
a volunteer campground host for
the Idlewild and Joaquin Miller
campgrounds.
The host is needed from May
17 through Nov. 13, and must
provide their own trailer or RV.
Hosts generally are available
to the public Thursday through
Monday, including holidays.
Duties include campground
clean-up, litter patrol, and clean-
ing and restocking bathrooms.
Hosts are reimbursed for gas
for travel between the camp-
grounds and receive $19 per
day for out-of-pocket expenses.
They get a free campsite and
propane.

to a single vehicle crash due to
icy conditions on Highway 26
near Austin Junction. The driv-
er and passenger, both Prairie
City juveniles, received minor
injuries.
• Jan. 20: At about 3:30
p.m., OSP arrested Cody Mi-
chael Bullard, 21, of Mt. Ver-
non, on a felony warrant for
probation violation. He was
lodged in Grant County Jail.
• Jan. 25: At about 6 p.m.,
OSP investigated a commer-
cial vehicle v. deer crash on
Highway 395 just north of Mt.
Vernon. Neither the driver nor
