There is a provision in the Ore­
gon statutes compelling people to
take care of indigent relatives. We
do not believe it is well understood,
but it is there all t he same.
Sec. 3944, Hill’s code of Oregon:
‘Every poor person who shall bo
unable to earn a livelihood in con­
sequence of bodily infirmity, idioev,
lunaev w other cause shall be sup­
ported by the father, mother, chil­
dren, brothers and sisters of such
pcor persons, if they or either of
them be of sufficient ability; and
and every person who shall fail to
support his or her father, mother,
