    KENTUCKY OUTLAWS.
P aducah , Ky ., June 8—A band
of robbers ¡8 committing many de
predations just over the State line
of Tennessee in the Hollow Rock
section. A few nights since the
gang, numbering ten men, went to !
the house of John Hall, in Camden,
and called him from bed to open
the store, representing that they
desired to purchas a shr«>ud for a
dead man. After getting into the
store they forced him at the point
of a pistol, to open his safe ami de
liver up the contents, amounting
to one-hundred and eighty dollars. |
Last Friday night the band visi
ted Vale, a station between this city
and Hollow Rock, and, going to the
reside» ce of a brick maanf ictur r
named Lee Francisco, demanded1,
of him all his money He refused 1
at first, but was finally brought to
term-, after being hacked across
the face and hand with a knife.
He delivered over all the money he
possessed, amounting to $207.
The night following, Camden was
again visited, and the store of J. J-
Stvle was robbed of $75.
J,he same night Hollow Rock was
visited by the robbers, and the store
of Lovelace Bros, broken open ami
robbed of a lot of clothing and dress
goods.
Sunday night a Sawyer, three
miles from Hollow Rock, a lot of
suspicious looking characters came
into the town The citizens sus
pected them as being the authors of
the numerous robberies in the vi- '
cinity, and accordingly armed them
selves and forced the suspicious
elm a ters to leave, tiring over fifty
shots at them. It is not known
whether anv of the would-be robbers
were injured or not. Those who
claim to know say the band is some
where in the Big Sandy bottoms.—
