HARNEY VALERY ITEMS.
H as “B een T har .”—Bro. Weed,
of the Eastside Champion, realizes
the troubles of a country editor, and
speakR as follows: “White paper
was evidently a scarce article in
Adin, Modoc county, last Thursday,
for the Adin Argus of the 13th inst.
conics to hand this morning printed
on brown wrapping paper. Pub
lishers in mountain regions, whose
freight is hauled a hundred miles
or more on wagons, know more of
the disadvantages of running a pa
per than their brethren in large
towns on railroads have any idea
of. The Champion editor has tried
both, and speaks from experience.”
We wonder if B(l)arney of the
New Era knows what it is to be out
of paper, and but only a small
quantity of suitable wrapping pa
per in town? We’ll loan him more
(in our mind) when he is short—

expect it returned.—Adin Argus.
