CREAM BALM. HAY-FEVER
Sunday scho Is were founded inTngland
about the year 17811, by a printer of Glou
cester named John Rackes
The grandest offer yet in our advertising columns
trill be found a very liberal offer of Messrs. J. II.
Bright & Co., the Real E tate Agents of 34 Kearny
street, San Froncisco. The.v Deed Free and uncondi
tionally; one lot 26x05 in the beautiful town-site of
Lake View, Tulare Countv, to every person that
calls or sends their name by letter to their office,
they send along with the Deed a Map of tho
town-rite with number of lot marked thereon.
Doubtless they oxpeet each person will return and
buy more lots, but theie is nothing obligator}- in
this respect. Of course, the purchaser pays for the
deed, but tho land is a free and unincumbered gift
given unconditionally; this offer is being taken
advantage of by hundreds in tho immediate vicinity
of the town-site, M they have great faith in the
future Chicago of tho Uolden West, and expect ere
1 mg to realixe handsomely on the investment.
Those desiring lots should not delay but take
adv outage of this offer at onco.

A Newly-Discovered Affliction of Railr oad
Employes.
At a recent meeting of the Society
of Physicians of the Charite Hospital
in Berlin, Thomsen exhibited a patient
whoso case lie described as one of
“railway brain,” a neurosis resem
bling in many respects tho condition
already well known under tho name
of “railway spine.” A healthy rail
way employe, aged thirty, without
history of alcholism, or of any predis
posing neurotic condition, by tho sud
den motion of his train was thrown
violently against Iho side of a ear,
striking his head. Ho sustained no
wound, and at tho timo of injury con
sciousness was preserved.
Some
hours afterwards, however, ho was
suddenly seiz d with syncope, with
mental terror, lost all sense of loca
tion, could not recognizo tho simplost
familiar obj ct, and described what he
saw erroneously; his one objective

psychic symptoms suddenly ceased, he
could remember nothing which had
happened, and had no explanation for
bis condition.
Tho patient snbioquentlv became
very mel ancholic, complaining of in
somnia, lioadaeho, spinal pain, weari
ness and fnilur,' of appetite; no sensa

profound disturbance of cerebral func

Tho increase in mechanical appli

railways,afford abundant opjx>rtunities
for observation of nervous shock, both
in its fatal nnd milder forms. While
post-mortem demonstration of hem

the course of these cases when fatal,
it is evident that we must rely up n
the continued observation of surviving
patients to determine lhe development
of lesions which will illustrate the
pathology of this condition. The pos-
