Howen place during the past couple
of years has gone to Spokane with his
family for the winter. He expects to
return In March to take up active
farm work again.
Nollle Heed has gone to Ontario
for a short visit. His mother, Mrs.
E. B. Reed, and his aunt, Mrs. Dike
Jameson, went out at the same time,
the ladles going on over to Baker for
a visit with their sister, Mrs. Watts.
Mrs. E. J. Catlow Informs The
Times-Herald that they have dispos
ed of their ranch near Henlo to Biggs
& McHade and expect to take their
departure at once for Bend where
they have purchased a drug store and
where they will make I heir home ln
the future.

Andrew Irwin and his children,
Andrew Jr., and Margaret, arrived
home last night from a visit with rel
atives and friends over in Idaho. An
drew Jr. was a sick boy for iulle a
while last spring following the close
of school and he was taken out by
his father to regain his strength. He
is much improved and will he able
to cuter school next month.

Silver Creek Wednesday.

Principal Kalston of the Harney
County High School, accompanied by
Mrs. Ralston, arrived here Wednes
day to prepare for the opening of the
school. Mr. Ralston has been en
gaged In war work during the vaca
tion and comes back looking phys
ically fit and ready to "tackle" his
work. However, while In Portland
he visited the local draft board where
he bad registered and submitted him
self to a physical examination and
has been placed in Class 1, therefore
expects he will be called to the col
ors before very long.

day.

mond will not continue hla studies In
