been over from her home nursing

The Harney basket ball team came
over last night and defeated the high
school team In a game at Touawama.
There was a social dance following
the game. This is the second vic
tory for the visitors Several resi
dents of Harney were over to give
support to their team and take In

M. S. Davles Is building a modern
residence on his ranch recently pur

Otus Sizemore was in town this
week and told The Times-Herald
that It was still spring over In his
neighborhood as they had no ice
whatever and the grass was growing
fine.
The Times-Herald Is Informed by
Principle Hutton of the public school
of this city that Thrirt Stamps have
become quite popular among the
pupils and there Is a constant de
mand for them.
Alva and Ed. Springer came up
from their home near Malheur Lake I
the other day. They stated the roads
wen- bad this side of Wright's Point
but on the other side they were very
good.
Elilis Ramirez, one of the exten
sive sheep men of the southern part
of this county and Nevada, was In
town yesterday on business. He and
his brother are wintering some
9,000 head of sheep In the vicinity
of Jack Mountain.

Herald that he has purchased the
blacksmith shop and equipment of
Drlnkwater & Sloe urn and would at
once put an experienced man at work
in Hie shop. This Is situated at the
lower end of Main Street and Tim
should have a good business.

He told the writer that Henry Trow
bridge is in California with a string
of running horses and he had been

made a big winning at the sport.

Miss Martha llanley arrived home
last Thursday evening from Portland

Mrs. Asal Wulkup returned

with relatives and friends in Idaho,
and has resumed her position as
night operator at the telephone of
fice. C, F. Savage, representing an X

apparatus for Dr. Smith. Mr. Sav
age states this Is quite a complete
equipment for a place of this size
ami adequate for any emergency.
A difficult operation was perform
ed by Dr. Smith at the hospital last
Wednesday upon Mrs. Dole Smith.
Dr. Ilttiul-t'atlerson came up from
Albrltton to assist. The patient Is
reported recovering nicely.

James J. Donegal! Is carrying his
right hand In a sling. A couple of
miiis ago he Injured his wrist while
ranking a car and it Is causing him
(rouble again. He hud the doctor
place a cast on it recently and will
take care of It until it is well.
Henry Eichner was In town the
fore part of this week and told the
writer he was In the chicken business
on a large scale. He has shipped
recently 800 chickens and 300 tur
keys. He had purchased 200 chick
ens and 40 turkeys that day and was
looking for more.
Tom and Mrs. Allen are over from
j the P Ranch The former has recent
, ly relumed from an extended visit
to California where he was on busi
ness and Incidentally took the time
while in that section to visit with
relatives and friends for a time. He
saw Frank Cowan and his wife,
Frank being in the engineering ser
vice of the army.
Married The Times-Herald is In
formed this week that Miss Mary
Caldwell and H. W. Heck were mar
el"! last w k. They are living In
Portland at present and will not re
turn to Hums for an Indefinite time
according to a letter received by the
writer from the bride. They were

and are at home in apartments there.
