Ellis arrived home this week from a trip to his former home in Kankakee, III., where he took the bodies of his sister and mother for final inter ment. Mr. Ellis was delayed on his return trip from sickness but is again in usual health. Charley Hoge, a special writi r of the Oregon Daily Journal, came up from Portland last week in company with Wm. Hanley and spent some time in this sec tion observing development and preparing some special articles for his paper. Mr. Hoge is a pleasant young man and one of the boHt story writers on the Journal staff. ft E. Thomas and L W.
