The Library Club.
Last Saturday the Libruiy
Club met at the home of Mrs.
Julian Byrd. this being the group
on domestic science.
As the Club year is drawing to
a close, each succeeding meeting
seems to be receiving more at
tention; and the old adage, "1! e
way to reach a man's heart
is not only true of the sterner
sex, there were many smiling
faces at the close of the after
noon due to the fact, that the
ladies were allowed to partake
of the good things prepared by
Miss Wilson in her demonstra
tion! in domestic art.
Mrs Kelsey launched the do-!
mestic science program by giving
a number of very Unique recipes,
and advice on the management!
of some of the household affairs. I
Mrs. Byrd read a paper describ
ing the coffee tree, and the
modes of preparing this favorite
beverage, proving later that she
was an expert in the art of cof
fee making.
The club was most pleasantly
entertained in a musical way. by
Mrs. Farre and Mrs. Sutton.
with both vocal and instrument
al music.
The new President, Mrs. J.
W. Biggs presided in a very dig
nified and pleasing manner. She
delivered a short address at the
close of the business meeting en
treating the members to stand
together for the best interests of
the club, admonishing them to
remember the cause for which
this club was inaugurated some
twelve years ago by a few noble
and public spirited woman.

Opera Postponed.
Mrs. Sutton and Mrs. Rembold

which it was intended to produce

of Mrs. Rembold's change of

to Portland for a vacation, it
was decided to postpone the pro

Mrs. Sutton has directed this
production before but docs not
feel it is justice to attempt it
alone as it would involve much
work to direct and accompany,
therefore after consulting with
several who were to take the
principal parts in the opera it
was decided to put it on this fall.

"I take pleasure in recommend
ing Chamberlain's Cough Rem
edy to my customers because I
have confidence in it I find
that they are pleased with it and
call for it when again in need of
such a medicine," writes J. W.
Madam, if your husband is like
most men he expects you to look
after the health of yourself and
children. Coughs and colds are
the most common of the minor
ailments and are most likely to
lead to serious disease. A child
is much more likely to contract
diphtheria or scarlet fever when
it has a cold. If you will inquire
into the merits of the various
remedies that are recommended
for coughs and colds, you will
find that Chamberlain's Cough
Remedy stands high in the esti
mation of people who use it. It
is prompt and effectual, pleasant
and safe to take, which are
qualities especially to lie desired
when a medicine is intended for
children. For sale by all dealers.
