Ernest Musick received a tele
gram the fore part of this week
announcing that his mother was
critically ill at her home in
Seattle and he left for that point

Rex Clark, the little son of Mrs.
Frankie Clark of the public
school, arrived here the fore part
of this week in company with
Frank Johnson. Rex has been at
Paulina for several months but is
now- enjoying good health and
has joined his mother for the rest
of the school year here.
Kemp llardesty and wife and
little daughter were down from
their Taout Creek home this week
having some dental work done
and visiting relatives and friends.
They have a school district in
their neighborhood recently es
tablished and hope to have a term
of school, start in the near future.

Mrs. Julia Greeley-McUowan,
was in the city yesterday, having
come up from her home in Nevada
to look after some business in
connection with the estate of her
mother. Mrs. McGowan had but
little time to greet her many
friends in this city as she had to
leave for home immediately after
her business was attended to.

The power dam boards had to be
removed to allow the water to
recede and permit the mill dam
being repaired. This has been
completed and as soon as the
mill dam has filled up again the
lights will be run by water power
Mrs. T. L Harrison, und her

Drewsey and took the Thursday
morning train to Portland where
they will make their home while
the Doctor is abroad. Dr. Har
rison has a commission as Capt
ain in the English army and is
seeing active service in tne

Died at the Cummins hospital.
Thursday, November 19, John
Thimbleby. aged 5:1 years. He
had been at the hospital for
about a week and was suffering
from cancer of the stomach. He
was not very well known in this
section but had some relatives
over in Malheur county wo are
informed. The funeral was held
yesterday afternoon.
Dr. Benson's subject for Sun
day morning will be "The
Knowledge of the Indwelling
Christ;" in the evening, "After
the War, What?" All theyoung
people are invited to the Endeav
or Society in the Baptist church
Sunday evening at 6:45 o'clock,

be held in the Presbyterian
church at 10 o'clock Thursday

Miss Lena narkey leu -Wednesday
morning for Portland
where she will be married to Mr.
W. U. Scott, the Eagle ville stock
man. Miss Harkey is one of the
energetic business women of this
section and has made quite a suc
cess in accumulating property as
well as being a successful teacher
in the schools of this section.
She is a most estimable young
woman who has the high esteem
of a wide circle of friends
throughout this country. Mr.
Scott is a man of means who is
able to provide a nice home for
his bride and devote his time to
her welfare and happiness. He
is certainly to be congratulated
and The Times-Herald joins the
many friends of the bride in ex
tending best wishes for a con
tented and happy married life.
