the high school and later took a
complete course in electrical en
gineering at the Oregon Agricu
tural College from which institu
tion he graduated with honors

Hardware Co. Both were popu
lar and have a large number of
warm friends who join The
Times-Herald in extending best
wishes. Neil has purchased the
resident property formerly
owned by Mrs. W. T. Hill and
they will immediately take up
their residence there upon re
turning to Hums.
O. A. C. Club Formed.
A number of graduates and
former students of the Oregon
Agricultural College met in this
city Thursday evening and form
ed an O. A. C. club. There was
quite a number present but not
nearly all of the people eligable
to membership who live in this
vicinity.

A social has been arranged for
the young people of Hums at the
Presbyterian church next Wed
nesday evening, Oct. 21, from
8:80 to 10:.'(). The entertainment
is for the high school antl all
young people of the town over 14
years of age. ( luests are requested
to come dressed as children as the
program of the evening is of the
character that requires dress of
that nature. Please comply with
this retpiest as it will adti materi
ally to the enjoyment of the oc
casion to have all present par

yesterday afternoon and as a
result is in the Cummins hospital.
He was preparing to come t town
from the Silver Creek country to
the dance and basket social given
by the high school boys when his
horse bucked with him falling
among the rocks and the young
man was either kicked by the
animal or not but his jaws were
broken on each side. Doctor
Griffith was called and the patient
is doing very well. Jack is a very
jovial young man who makes the
best of things and while there is
no doubt he is suffering much

McGowan, of the Fasiern Star
of this state, paid an official visit
to the local Chapter last night
and was greeted by a large num
bers who spent a very pleasant
session with her. The Grand
Matron lives at Me.lfoitl and
came in by way of Band, arriving
late therefore no formal arrangt -mollis
were made as il was not
certain she would be able to
reach here.
Uefreshcnients were served
after the Chapter work bad been
completed and the Grand Matron
complimented the members on
their work.
