Hoy Vanwinki.k, Kcoorder. Portland, Sept. Z, D. E. Standard, Burns, Oregon, - Bob Robinson's statements are redfc -not sly untrue. I shall obtain statement today from lawyers who drew up Oregon dry bill, but no member of the Arlington club ever had anything to do with changing measure. Mea sure never changed and "distri buting" never was in measure. No such change ever printed in any news paper anywhere. Robinson is hired speaker. His character is seen from fact he was formerly for prohibition in an eastern state. Facts regard ing Kansas should be judged not in comparrison with other states, but as it was before it went dry. Prison commitments all vastly reduced since Kansas went dry. Kansas has lower death rate from disaster attributable to liquor than any other state in the Union. Kansas is away below the aver age in commitments than any other state. Kansas has only one prisoner for each 1911 people. wncre uregon has one prisoner for each 1600 people. Kansas has fewer homicides per year than Oregon, but more in peni tentiary because Kansas has no capital punishment, and they stay in prison for life. For 25 out of a 105 counties in last two years, 13 counties only one prisoner apiece, "1910" pri son report. Oregon can't dupli cate this. Wall Street Journal says Kansas per capita wealth is $lGjti.92. Largest in America. Directory census bureau says Kansas reduces death faster than any state in the Union. Facts regarding situation are, brewer ies becoming desperate in every Oregon dry town. Business bet ter than when town wet. All Roseburg merchants favor dry town. Salem overwhelming, fa vor dry. Merchants say business 25 per cent better. Salem build iqjr permits increased $9000.00 per month since town went dry. All saloon buildings rented. No vacant houses. Virginia voted dry yesterday by over 3600 with incomplete returns. This is clear indication of what Oregon will do next November. I am pre paring a tripple statement for mail, but please have this prelim inary statement published as news or advertisement. ORTON E. GOODWIN, Campaign Mgr. Hundred. Paid Adv.
