Whistler, the well known civil engineer in charge of the .government reclamation work in this state, and State Engineer Lewis, passed through this city early in the week from the DeschuteB section and went on out to Malheur county. They were here but a short time and The Times-Herald did not have an opportunity to interview the gentlemen to ascertain their ob ject in visiting the interior at this time. Our first truck load of pianos and player pianos has arrived and for the benefit of anyone inter ested we have a fine player piano upon display at the Summit hotel where we will be pleased to show the instrument and explain its worth. We believe it will pay you to see us if you are in the market for any kind of an instru ment. Do not delay as in the two days since the instruments arrived we have already disposed of part of them. Shepherd & Son, Summit Hotel. Died -At the hospital in this city, Se.pt. 17, J. T. Anderson, after an Illness covering a lonir period. He suffered from stom ach trouble for many years and had been confined to his bed for the past four. His sister, Mrs. F. E. McGee, had taken him to Portland where he underwent two severe operations and later he was taken to California in the hope it would benefit him, but he returned home two- years ago. Tom Anderson, as he was famil iarly known, had been a resident of this county for 26 years. He was born in Texas Sept. 27, 1854 and came to this section to join Mrs. McGee and family. He was never married and is survived by three sisters, Mrs. F. E. McGee of this place, the other two re siding in Texas. Tha funeral was held yesterday afternoon at the Naxarine church, Rev. Married- Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the home of the bride's par ents in this city, Miss Jessie Bardwell, and Harry A. Williams, Rev. Dr. Benson officiating. Both are well known young peo ple of this section where they have resided all their lives. The bride is a particularly popular young lady who has a host of friends. She is a graduate of the high school apd taught last year in the schools of t his coun ty. Harry is a son of Mr, and Mrs. R, .1. Williams of Silver Creek, who was also a student of the high school for a time but never finished the full course. He is a fine young man who has the confidence and respect of all his acquaintances. The wedding ceremony was performed jifst be fore the noon hour in the pre sence oi the immediate family and after a sumptuous dinner thy took their departure for Silver Creek where they will re side.
